Because Project North Star will have a large construction component, there is a need for competent and professional health, safety, security and environmental management plans to be developed during the front-end of the project. These plans will provide a foundation for the project’s interactions with contractors and vendors during the execution of the project. The purpose of the HSSE manager role is the development and assurance of implementation of those plans, allowing Project North Star to achieve BP’s fundamental goal of no harm to people, the environment or plant.
