JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB PURPOSE

The Well Engineering Technical Manager is responsible for the technical client engagement on well engineering challenges in the Europe-Caspian Region. In addition, the position is responsible to train and mentor the Jr Well Engineers also in the Europe-Caspian Region while assisting in the development, where possible, of our sister PLs engineers. The position is in charge of the technical roll-out and implementation of the Drilling Advisor and Well Abandonment Advisor solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Well Engineering design for optimal well solutions for our clients including casing solutions, mud choices, drilling BHAs, and other mitigation approaches.
    Drilling Engineering optimization for improved Drilling Services performance in Europe-Caspian
    Torque and Drag calculations and vibrational analysis for drilling efficiency calculations
    Client engagement early in the decision process to understand their needs
    Mentor the Jr well engineers in the region
    Oversee project delivery for all well engineering opportunities in Europe-Caspian
    Follow all GBU well engineering best practices and ensure the well engineering team in the region does as well
    Technical paper submissions and strategic conference participation

ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION ABOUT JOB
This position is office based with occasional rig-site visits. International Travel is required for clients meeting and entertainment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential

    Four-year degree

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
Essential

    Drilling engineering and Well Engineering experience

Preferred

    Operator and service company experience is preferable

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Essential

    A high degree of interpretational and analytical skills
    Works well in team environment
    Organised
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Self-motivated
    Ability to handle multiple tasks
